Enrollment

Our school is open all year, with a regular 10-month session September through June roughly following the Seattle Public Schools district calendar.

We offer year-long enrollment if there are openings. There is a $240 enrollment fee which applies at the time of enrollment in order to hold your spot. In case of waitlists, we will take into account trying to have a diverse and balanced group of children, with returning families and siblings having priority.

We offer 5 days / week and 4 days / week options.

Summer session

We will be offering a 7 week summer session in 2026.

To enjoy the beautiful PNW weather we will spend more time than usual outside and add some water games - prepare to recieve wet laughing children! We also switch things up a bit inside and amp up all the art, crafts, and building, while introducing some new open ended loose parts explorations which are not generally part of our repertoire.

Current students have priority, as well as those who will start in the following school year and alumni. We do accept new children for summer camp, so send us a message if you would like more information about our summer camp weeks.

Summer session

9 AM - 1 PM
Enrollment can be done for the whole session for $ 1,800, or on a weekly basis at $ 330 / week.

Requirements

Our recommended starting age is somewhere in the 2.5 - 3 year old range - once they are able to change their clothes with assistance and can initiate toiletting on their own, as we do not change diapers and expect children to have the body awareness needed to use the toilet independently.

We also ask that children be able to communicate basic needs with strangers as well as understand and follow simple instructions, and carry their own belongings with them as they arrive at school.

For older children, familiarity with Montessori education is great to have but not required.

We welcome children through Kindergarten age - we love our older students who are able to be great role models for the younger children and bloom into capable and empathetic leaders.

2026 - 2027

2027 Summer Session

We expect to hold a 7 week summer session in 2027, with enrollment available for the full session or on a per week basis (summer camp style). Whilst priority is given to current and incoming Veranda families, enrollment to our summer session is open to all.

Expect dates and information to become available in early spring.

2027 - 2028

We are not yet enrolling children for 2027 - 2028.

The wheels will start turning after the new year and we will update our website with information about open houses and important enrollment dates as well as reach out to our waitlist families, and others who have visited us or expressed interest in our school.

As a general guideline, we typicall hold an open house in mid February and another in mid March. Returning families will apply for priority enrollment during February, and we open applications for enrollment during the month of March - communicating decisions towards the end of the month. Should we still have openings, enrollment applications after then are considered as they come in.

How to enroll

Families who have visited our school will receive an email with a link to our application for enrollment form when enrollment opens.

Once we have received your form submission, we will let you know in late March whether there is a spot available for your child and you will recieve instructions with regards to our enrollment fee in order to confirm your child's enrollment, as well as instructions for next steps. Payment of the enrollment fee is due within 7 days of notification of a spot being available.

Should we be at capacity, you will be placed on our waitlist at no cost to you. When a spot opens up, this will be communicated by email along with instructions needed in order to secure said spot.

Referrals

We are starting a referral program! If a current Veranda family sent you our way, please let us know who it was so that you can both get credited.

Referred families will receive a complimentary pair of slippers / indoor shoes for their child
Referrer families will receive a 50% discount of the September (or first month after the new family starts) for one of their children

Tuition rates for 2026 - 2027

Tuition is to be paid on the first of each month from September to June. Snow days, vacations, and breaks are already factored in.

$ 1,100 / month for five mornings per week
$ 1,050 / month for four mornings per week
Yearly enrollment fee of $ 210 / family (prorated per term for continuous enrollment students)

There is a $70 / month sibling discount for families with two or more children enrolled.

Tuition received after the 10th of each month may be subject to a $25 late fee.

The first full day of school will be September 3rd. New students will have a few slower phase in days starting September 1st.
